Undoubtedly the most important of Conan Doyle's science fiction works is The Lost World, a novel which is often compared with Jules Verne's Journey to the Centre of the Earth and Henry Rider Haggard's She: a history of adventure (a dream fantasy of a primitive people living amid the ruins of an ancient but more advanced society).
